Notice: Community Updates on ISO Fire Hydrant Testing – Potential Water Discoloration. Please be advised that fire hydrant testing is being conducted throughout the system between April 4, 2026, and April 15, 2026. During certain high-flow testing activities, sediment within the water lines may be temporarily disturbed, potentially leading to water discoloration. While this may affect the appearance of the water, it does not typically pose a health risk. The Water, Sewer & Gas Board of the Town of Wedowee is proactive in keeping residents informed through regular water board reports.
Unauthorized Use or Tampering with Fire Hydrants – Notice Unauthorized operation, use, or tampering with any fire hydrant within the system of the Water, Sewer & Gas Board of the Town of Wedowee is strictly prohibited. In our recent community updates, it is emphasized that only properly authorized personnel, using approved equipment and in accordance with Board policies, are permitted to operate fire hydrants. This includes necessary fire hydrant testing to ensure functionality. Any contractor, individual, or entity found to be operating, accessing, or otherwise tampering with a hydrant without proper authorization will face consequences as outlined in the latest water board report.
