IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
Gas Emergencies
If you smell natural gas, act immediately.
Natural gas is highly flammable. If you detect a strong odor similar to rotten eggs:
- DO NOT attempt to locate the source of the leak
- DO NOT turn on or off any electrical switches or appliances
- DO NOT use phones, flashlights, or anything that could create a spark inside the area
- DO NOT light matches or use open flames
LEAVE the area immediately and move to a safe distance.
Once you are safely away, call 911 and then contact our office to report the suspected gas leak.
Do not return to the area until emergency personnel have declared it safe.
Water Or Sewer Emergencies
Wedowee Utilities at (256) 357-4716 during normal business hours:
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Lunch Break: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon Hours: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
After hour Water & Sewer Calls should be directed to the water plant at 256-357-2448
